I just watched the Bleach movie titled Memories of Nobody, that debuted in japan last winter. It was of the expected Bleach quality.

Taking roughly one and a half hour to watch, this movie really worth sitting in front of the screen. The events of the movie take place sometime after Ichigo and co. got back from Soul Society for the first time, probably short before the Bount-related events. I don’t want to spoil you with any plot details, so i’ll try to write as enigmatically about the story as i can. Ichigo and Rukia are doing their usual duties hunting down hollows that appear in town and nearby, but meanwhile they encounter a strange mass of spirits of unknown origin. They have no chain (that would show that they are plusses), nor a hollow hole, nor anything such that could help identifying them. Later on it’s revealed that they are blanks, spirits that have got lost in the Valley of Screams, the world between Soul Society and the real world, and also lost their memories. Also, a nice and hyper shinigami girl called Senna appears, destroying the blanks. Later on it’s revealed that she’s the target of a mysterious renegade shinigami group, that reside within the Valley of Screams and call themselves the Dark Ones (how original – at least they could’ve made up a cool name), and naturally want to take revenge on Soul Society that exciled them ages ago. For that, they need Senna somewhy. That’s about as much one gets in the first ten minutes, so i think it’s not spoiling. Naturally there are loads of fights and even four (!) different bankai releases, every well-known and long-missed character appears once again, at least for the sake of a quick sentence or something like that. The very ending of the movie (i mean that short scene after the ending song and credits) is also a good idea. Lets you leave your chair with a smile on your face.

The drawing quality, the new weapons and that new clan are of the usual Bleach level, as expected. I’m not quite familiar with the technical part of this all, but i think it’s very well done. A must-see. At least for me, it was. I’d regret not watching it, but true, then i wouldn’t know what i missed. (Can’t wait for the next movie, coming out this december.)
