This Iwate local beer called Kinkura was recommended for summer, so of course I decided to give it a try.
It starts as I expected from a pilsner: straw color, slowly disappearing snow white head, barely any lacing.
The smell doesn’t disappoint either. It’s mostly about the hops, with citrus and grain to back it up.
It’s got a medium body, that feels lighter at first due to the very strong carbonation. It’s faintly sweet, with a decent bitterness. Just as the smell, the taste is dominated by the hops. There are the same slight citrus notes as well.
It’s a refreshing, light summer drink. The body and a slight bitterness lingers for the longest, making you want another pint in the sweltering heat.
