Off again

Tomorrow morning i’ll leave at least for one, at most for two weeks. You know, even such retarded kyubs like me need some rest and offline life. I’ll spend one week with my family at the south shore of lake Balaton and one with my friends on the north one. Will be loads of fun, i can already foresee it. By the way, if you check back my last year’s archive, then you can see that then in july was almost the same situation: the post amount was about the half of the average. Most probably, this will be the situation this year too… i don’t think i could write 40-50 posts in only one week, i’m not such a machine – i want to put some soul into it, or something along these lines. May write more posts tomorrow, but don’t forget this one.

Warning: Undefined variable: sanity

I felt like writing a post, but since i have no idea of what about, this’ll be just a meaningless mess of text, as usual. I’ve been swimming so i’m really tired now, had diner, so i think i’ll shut down my body’s operating system called conscience, or in other words, i’ll go to sleep. As it’s quite much improbable that i could fall into the realm of dreams quickly, i think i’ll dig deep into my spiritual self (i didn’t want to write “myself”, or the ero-kuns out there may misunderstand) and do a nice sophia session (as philosopher is out of φίλος philos (friend) and σοφία sophia (wisdom), thus becoming “friend of wisdom”)… it’s been a while since i last had one. See you tomorrow.

WAN2

Hi all,

sorry for not writing yesterday, but i was dead tired (no surprise not sleeping for over two days and waking early on the before two…) and slept a lot and didn’t come online much enough to post here.

Why was i so tired? For the simple reason i was at the second largest rock festival, WAN2 from friday to sunday. I parted from home at friday dawn and arrived at Mezőtúr, where the fest took place, around noon. The concerts began around 4PM. I don’t think i should write in-depth experience stories about all of them, so i’ll only write about the biggest and best ones of friday. I’ll leave the saturday ones to the following hungarian post =).

From half past eight i was at the gig of Macskanadrág, a (skate-)punk band from my hometown. They made a really good party, though it may not have been as good as the one they did here in the local pub. They played for about an hour, and presented us the really best tracks they ever wrote. I won’t write titles, just believe me =).

When MNG finished, i went over to the Tankcsapda concert that started a few minutes earlier. I immediately pushed myself into the middle of the audience (in need for a better word), and stayed there till the end of the next gig. TCS played really good songs, and since they are really popular, everyone sang with them – myself included. After they finished, i went to get some fuel and while still singing the last songs for myself, i found myself once again in front of the stage.

Apocalyptica was the next one, so it’s no surprise i was there =). It took a while until they built their own scene on the stage and tuned the cellos, so when they begun, everyone was already prepared. I was really surprised that they only played instrumental tracks, but then i was enlightened by a fellow rocker that they only hire vocalists for their albums, but don’t bring them for their tour. So this was a really cool concert, when only we sang. They performed really well though, played all my favourite songs and even covered some songs by other bands.

And then they finished, and silence fell…

Serve the hive!

My life for Aiur! I mean, Ner’Zul!

Acolyte, WarCraft III

I’ve been playing WC3 a few times nowadays, and this is undoubtedly the funniest gag in it.

Anyway, tomorrow will be a fun busy day for sure. Let’s see a timetable: i’ll wake up around nine in the morning, will work until i’ll have to go for a driving lesson at eleven am. I don’t exactly know when i’ll arrive home, what’s sure is that before one pm. I’ll go swimming at four pm, but before that i’ll have my half hour gym session, and until then naturally i’ll have to work to catch up with myself. Also, when i arrive home at seven pm, my programme can’t be anything else than working. I have to finish up loads of work tomorrow.

That’s because on sunday, with the first rays of sunlight, i’ll set off for Germany for five days. I’m wondering if i should take my laptop with myself so that i could work in my free time. I’ll take my mp3 player for sure, i couldn’t survive this many days without music… Well, that’s still to be decided. kthxbye.

MP3

This morning i’ve received the thing i’ve been waiting for: the cutie called Creative MuVo V100. It looks great, it sounds great and it’s space is big. What big, huge, one gig. I’m copying sounds on it right now.

Songs and the Clan

Lately i’ve come to know some new songs, those are not so new at all (except of the exceptions), such as In the presence of enemies, part 2 by Dream Theater. Even though it’s roughly 15 minutes long (16:38, exactly) i listen to it many many times. Imagine, only playing it four times is more than an hour. The other one that says something to not-Hungarian people is Run away by Stratovarius, about which i’ve written before. It’s scary an addictive song, i must say. I know only a few like it…

That would be the first part of the title. The second part is about the new album of Korpiklaani, my finnish favourites, who play simply great folk metal. Their new album is titled Tervaskanto. I’ll try to get my hands on a legal copy, until then, i listen to the short samples of online shops on the net (at least this is the official statement). When i’ll know it good enough, i’ll be sure to write a good summary and review of it.

Disappointing

It’s so disappointing that nowadays i write such posts, that if they were in someone else’s blog, i wouldn’t read them, because they aren’t interesting at all, just normal journal entries, nothing to make me think, nothing to check out, nothing to laugh at… and this is sad.

But this is the summer – nothing happens. No school, so i hardly go out – a thing i want to change: go cycling at least three times a week, meet with people in town, attend cultural events and such… Though these last are hard to find in this city i live in, but it is written, that “he who seeks finds” (Mt 7:8)…

I will read and learn more, go out more, and spend even less time by the computer. Though lately i worked a lot (i completed the latest job assignment, and also wrote the programming part of the last two high level gcse informatics exam), but sometimes i feel that i could spend my time better. I would need longer days, i say. Or just i should learn to divide it better between the activities i want to do.

It’s even more disappointing when i read older posts: some of them were so much better then these i produce lately… Well, i’ll try and make this blog more worthy to read.

Should i?

Today i wake up, played warcraft, ate breakfast, played warcraft, downloaded and printed the high level oral gcse exam items (summed around 20-30 pages, so a little bit more than i expected), ate a lot of pizza for lunch (one gereal with corn, and one with chili), did some strengthening excercises, went swimming, swam for two hours, went to my friend’s, had a good talk and a good drink, arrived home about half an hour before now. It was good, thanks. Now i’ll eat some fruits and go to sleep.

New one

Today i worked on the blog engine i plan to publicize. It’ll be based on PHP and MySQL, naturally, as i don’t really know anything else, and all output will be XML format. Some of it will be written using OOP, some will be just “normal” coding, with everything i know in it. It already has its entry parser function done. “Nice job, a whole day’s work and only that!” No, not only that, i’ve also written the error handling class and secured a method for others to translate the blog (not the content, but the script) into other languages (i write both hungarian and english language files for it, japanese and german will come later) and as i said, with that XML format i also give them huge freedom in designing templates using XSLT. All entries “can has” multiple categories and files attached to them, users will have the same features as in this blog (just with a working profile edit page), and on many more fields, it’ll be much like this blog. It already has more advanced text formatting features than this blog, such as automatically recognising and linkifying URLs and e-mail addresses. I want to write it well. kthxbye
