Pascal and PHP

Did you know it’s easy? I mean programming using Pascal. Really. Especially if one has a good tutorial to teach him the fundamentals. I can already use some really basic functions after learning it for only a half afternoon, so it’s far from impossible to master it by the end of october, when i’ll need massive knowledge of it.

Today then i worked a few hours on my sites (really only a few), and sucked with an annoying bug of the unserialize() function which has the habit to break down if the string that should be unserialized contains the [/h(int)] part, where (int) is any number. Really annoying. This may be present with other strings too so just be careful using BBCode-alike things along with serialization…

Tiring

Have you ever wrote 10 episode summaries a day? Well, i’m doing that right now… it’s really tiring. The series is Chrono Crusade, and i have to write summaries for episodes 4-15 for today. I still have three episodes to go, but i think i could finish these much more quickly because i start to remember what happened from the first time i watched the whole series couple a while ago.

You will be able to read them on the AN Community Site (yes, the one i was making the back-end for). As of now they’re not yet in, but i think it’s only the matter of days. My scripts are not used either now, but as soon as i optimize them better they will be.

Happiness

I just ate a tinned fish for dinner, had a refreshing shower, fixed a couple of annoying things with my still-in development projects, and now i sit here posting in my blog. I think now i feel happy, but it may not be fully true =).

Just an usual summer day, with loads of rain, loads of knots, loads of codes and loads of heavy metal. That’s how my summer goes, but it’s really good this way =).

Of the 7.8 GB planned downloads DC already got more than 2 gigs, it’s going much faster than i thought. These new anime series are either very funny or very serious or just catching. My 100gig anime drive is starting to get filled O_o… a bit scary =). Today i had to delete a few things just to download the most recent Bleach episode…

Update

I’ve finally created something that resembles an anti-spam system for the blog, because i realised that i already received plenty of spam comments for the older posts. I immediately banned all of them, created a quite harsh keyword filter and other neccessities. It still has to learn more keywords, but it’ll improve with time. It may also filter some words that you may use (though i tried to be as careful as i could with such words), so please try not write the names any medicines or addresses suspicious websites in your comments in the future. No joke, you can get banned after such an action…

Progress

Sorry but i can’t talk about much else than how the work is going with the sites. I’ve done lots to the DB engine, almost everything but the admin panel should be working by tomorrow. Then i’ll create the admin page, start adding the content and everything else, make better quality images for the pages and it’s done. I think i can start adding content this week and it should take at most two more to add everything in both languages. Maybe i’ll even include a BabelFish translator in the page a’la Online Digimon.

I also got quite amount of exercises to prepare for my informatics exam and i have also started reading a philosophic work of Lenin. Omoshiroi (面白い).

Telia

I don’t know what the [BBB] DC prefix stands for, but it’s quite sure it’s one of the best internet providers i ever experienced. Alongside the [Telia] users, the [BBB] ones are those, from whom i can download full speed whenever i get a slot. That means 25-150 KB/sec, which is far over the average 2-10 KB/sec…

I think both are located somewhere in the scandinavian countries, though that’s just a mere guess. That too would then prove that the north-european countries may not be the best regarding GDP and such, but sure the best in at leat music and internet quality, just think about HammerFall or Stratovarius on music side, or the aforementioned providers on internet side. I have heard many people talk about those countries as an ultimate goal every nation should reach, with their good examples in the field of education, life-quality and many others…

Typical

Right now i’m in a mood that i could kill my computer. I was typing my a post here, but from Opera. I just wanted to start another application (my japanese text editor) to enter a few special characters, when (after typing about 3 paragraphs) Opera decided that it should close immediately and without warning – and what’s the worst: without saving my post.

Anyway, i was about to tell you how i was scared by today’s me. I should be working like a slave 24/7, but instead i haven’t done anything sane today. Well ok, i’ve made the DB banner a bit more lighter and burnt a CD, but that’s nothing! At least in the “free time” i was able to learn a bit of japanese, the part considered the probably hardest, the usage and difference between wa (?) and ga (?). I think i understand it well.

Oh, and to top all my happiness, all bookmarks from FireFox disappeared without sign. Lucky that i imported them to Opera when i installed it.

(Not) lazy Sunday afternoon

I just realized i haven’t posted for almost two days – sorry for that. Yesterday i’ve been playing Maple – surprise-surprise, Vale’s playing! Such things don’t happen too often… I play on MapleSEA (South East Asia), because there i have my last year’s characters (i started there because i had people i know there). I have two characters, a level 17 mage called Olostur on the Bootes server and a level 8 beginner (mage-wannabe) called Gholem on Aquila. My cousin has a character on one of the servers too, but i don’t know that its name.

Today almost all my time was spent on working on Digimon Backup. It’s coming together nice. I only have a … huge pile of things left to do =). That include the dynamically generated sidebars, the admin area, 2-3 page template and naturally the revised content itself. I also plan to write an own forum engine too, but i’d rather first finish the site before doing that…

Optimalizations

I’ve optimized most of the valerauko.net pages (except those of the hostees and Digimon Backup) for search engines and such (silktide rating, google, and other engines). I’ve added a search box to the main page and also updated the hostee list.

Kids

Anyone who knows me know well that i don’t exactly like kids – funnier people claimed i’m pedophob (so i can’t stand kids), but that’s not exactly true. I just have to get used to them just as to older people. I won’t (and i doubt many would) start an in depth conversation with a virtually unknown person – starting playing and such with a little child is like that for me.

Although it’s like that, and many joke with that on me, but when i grow up and will have some girl crazy enough to pair me on my side i’d like kids, and not neccessarily only one. Rather more. Sure that also depends on my pair, but i always dreamed of a big family (at least as big as the one i’m born into) – but dreams are not always fulfilled.
