Yesterday Kim-san offered to teach me how to read hangul, and today in the lunch break i asked her to write down and explain as much of it as possible. I won’t be reading korean stuff fluently tomorrow, but i’ve started on the slope, and there’s no turning back now. If i learn that writing as well, i’ll have the roman, the japanese, the cyrillic and the hangul in my bag in case of need. There’s still way to go, as i don’t yet know arabic, hebrew, khmer and a couple of others at all…
Unrelated. Tomorrow i’m going to buy some food, because something always runs out: now it’s the turn of bread, orange juice, milk and cucumbers. And if i’m there, i’ll get myself rice (five kilos will surely last for a while) and something to put on the rice, such as curry (as of now, instant versions, later on i might try cook something myself). Oh, i forgot to mention in the shopping post that i also bought myself a bowl to eat such stuff from. It wasn’t easy to find the right size, as the normal japanese rice bowls are just too small for me, the larger ones are just too large, but this one’s just fine. Simple looking though… i’ll decorate it somehow once i have any ideas. Or i’ll just ask Adina-san tomorrow, since she said she’ll be coming to Seiyu as well—she was the one who found me the bowl at Nitori. (We’ll continue our “newlywed shopping”, as she noted, we looked like a young couple getting the necessary stuff for their new apartment—the first stuff after furniture.)
