Another from Brewdog’s lineup, and the first I post from my wonderful backlog of beer reviews. I’ve had notes for this beer taken almost two months ago, and now I revisited them as I grabbed another bottle of the brew. I have notes taken for a bunch more…
Alice has a small tan head, that in turn leaves strong lacing. It’s not perfect black, instead a very, very dark brown.
It smells sweet. Cocoa, red berries, roasted caramel.
The body’s smooth with light yet fizzy carb. It has the traditional porter aromas of coffee and cocoa. The sweetness of the berry notes balances well with coffee bitterness. There’s basically no alcohol taste, though it pops up in the aftertaste (along with a surprising nut hint).
