Pointy

This is good. I know someone who has a personality just like this cute little animal on this pic. At least that person claims so. I haven’t really experienced it yet, on the contrary… That person is rather a nice and cute figure, so free as this one

New password

I just checked and found out that using this clever thing my password (that i thought to be secure) can be hacked. Funny, isn’t it? Though one’d need to know its hash to find it out, but that’s not hard for a pro hacker i think. Anyway, i found out that it’s not secure anymore so i changed it. I’m in the process of changing it everywhere i used this one. Don’t misunderstand me, i won’t change it everywhere to the same thing – i use a random string generator to make my passwords…

Now at all the important places i have the imaginably most secure passwords… or not. But now, i think i’ll go back and learn some japanese or read, maybe watch a movie. Wanna rest after a whole day of coding.

Back

The server’s been having problems this afternoon, so it couldn’t be reached for about an hour before now. I have no idea why it was down – i can only hope it was not because a bad script i created… =)

I worked plenty today, did the archive system for the blog and the complete working structure plan for Kiltant. The latter is especially good because now i can follow a ready plan, don’t need to improvize which page i’ll do next – also, it displays the dependencies well. That decides which page should be a module and which should be core: core is the one that’s needed by all (or almost all) pages, while module is one that’s needed by only a few pages or is a front-end page displayer itself. The core files are responsible for the database connection, the authentication and other security measures, navigation and including required display pages.

With that, i have made an optimised query function for the database and an easy-to-update dependency system. I also consider using classes, which i haven’t seen any use of yet, but maybe now…

Aki

You don’t know what that means? No problem, it’s in Japanese, and means “autumn”… Nice, isn’t it? I really love autumn – probably because i was born in october too… Right now the trees outside are taking their fall clothes, just before they become bare naked…

Change

The big thing is that i once again will change my avatar – this black and red one doesn’t show any contrast with the blog layout and also is a bit too depressing for me. So i’ll recolor it and use that one instead – with some brighter, if not happier, but less depressing colors. You’ll see it by the next post, i haven’t uploaded it yet.

Also i think i’ll work further on refining my knowledge on the subject of AJAX and the XMLHTTP object in JavaScript. It isn’t half as complicated as it seems, it only takes a good tutorial to show the basic functions that i couldn’t figure out else way and then everything goes easily.

Tired

“I am. I was not, then i came to be. I can’t remember not be. But i meant to travel far, very far to get here.”

Do you know what this is? The lyrics from the best ever music album ever published, titled Be by Pain of Salvation a few years ago.

This is a bit off topic though, just was inspired by the name of the category i once again write in.

I am tired. Very much. I have been working all afternoon, on different things, but all coding: AJAX, PHP and such. Fun.

That wouldn’t be a problem by itself, i’m somewhat used to work through whole days without problem, but today is a bit different.

Usually, if i listen to someone else’s problems, i kind of devour his or her negative thoughts and such, give him or her some seemingly good adwise, then think about it for a day. Somehow i’m really cheery when i just received someone’s problem pack, but also tired. And then today, i got another problem… then another… and had to help out everyone… and couldn’t speak with those i wanted to… well, it’s been a bit too much. I think i’ll go to sleep now. Or at least turn this freakin’ PC off.

Also considering enabling turning off “i am” and “feel like” posts for users, since some are really lame and troublesome. See you.

New Yahoo! mail

Today a friend of mine told me that it’s worth trying out the new online mailing system of Yahoo!, because it has a new interface. Not as if i had any problems with the previous one, but this is really great. It’s so useful as a real mailing program, though it’s written in JavaScript and is compatible with (i think) all major browsers nowadays.

Most of you have probably seen websites that use the trendy Web2.0 technologies like AJAX and such. Well, i don’t think you could name any of those that’s not used in the new Yahoo! system. Do you like the dynamic interface of Gmail? Then you’ll love Yahoo!, not to mention it doesn’t need any invitations (at least it didn’t need any when i registered – so about 3 years ago), it’s totally open.

The scripting is really quick, though some pop-up boxes take a while to load, but i guess that’s when it uses Prototype-style client-server connection, and mine is a bit overwhelmed right now =).

It has everything that a full-power mailing program nowadays has, and in addition to the usual mailing services it also has implemented feed reader – though i wonder who’d use an online AJAX program for reading feeds… It’s a nice offer anyway.

If you ever want to be shocked by seeing a whole complex program coded in only JS and XHTML, then you should try this out…

Principle of equivalent trade

If any one of you have seen or know the great anime titled Fullmetal Alchemist, then you most probably have already heard about the principle mentioned in the title.

People cannot gain anything without sacrificing something. You must present something of equal value to gain something. That is the principle of equivalent trade in alchemy.

Alphonse Elric

But if you watched the whole series or at least have seen the movie (Conqueror of Shambala) then you should know that this principle proved to be false – there are nice demonstrations of this by Dante or Hohenheim.

And i think it’s not working in our world either. If you look at any field of life, you can first have the impression that the principle applies, but as you delve further in, you’ll probably see that there are some things that cannot be explained that way, and that those are the things that give life the real taste. Both bad and good.

(Oh, and new avatar in use…)

Great, really

As of now today i haven’t done anything serious. I mean, nothing that really worth mentioning, so i guess this one will be again a boring, “what’s it like living as vale”-ish post. You can skip if you want, but then would miss any good thoughts that accidentally pop up.

Morning-morning… thursdays are fun days for me, because i don’t have first lesson (just as on tuesday), so i could sleep longer if i wanted – though i usually don’t do that, rather go to school and play ping-pong in school. School was just as usual as it always is… nothing interesting happened – at least nothing worth to mention, that i could say in english.

I arrived home around three pm, then umm… well, i haven’t done anything, just checked my mail and chatted with people via msn… I think now i’ll write a couple of news posts for DB (this time really)…

Telling a tale of sadness and cries

This is just a line of a poem that will be most possibly born in the near future – it just came across my mind the very moment i wanted to type a title.

For all you don’t know i tell that since today 0:16 AM (so roughly 19 hours ago) i am in my eighteenth year of life – or in another words: today is my seventeenth birthday.

That event is in a nice contrast with the title of the post as you probably think now – but for me it doesn’t neccessarily need bad mood or sadness to write a sad or deep poem. It only needs a good idea or a word that lurks in my subconscience for a while then bursts out together with an almost completely formed poem idea.

I think i’ll only read today, write that poem and chat with people on msn. At least my b-day should be a workless one.
