Windows Live Messenger

I’ve read that the new version of microsoft’s instant messenger is out, so i decided to try it out even though i use trillian for such activities.

The install file is the usually unneccessarily big, 15 megs. I know it’s not a problem for those with broadband connection, but what’s with the remaining dial-up users?

The install itself is quick compared to other MS applications’, and pretty simple. I don’t adwise anyone to read the agreement it requires you to read to start the setup, because i did read some parts of it, and it’s simply scary. Rather live in the fool’s paradise, believe me, you would instantly stop using any Live! product if you read that writing.

DICE

Az utóbbi időben elég sok időm van TV-zni esténként, és ezt ki is használom: lényegében este nyolctól éjfélig A+-t (magyar anime csatorna) nézek éjfélig. Nem igazán tudtam azonban mit kezdeni egy címmel: DICE. Soha nem is hallottam ezelőtt róla, és első pillantásra azt hittem, nem fogom szeretni, mert az FZero-ra emlékeztetett. Éppen ezért nem is igazán örültem felbukkanásának, mivel szinte egész este más se megy, csak DICE (egy este legalább 4 rész, ha nem több). Aztán valahogy megszerettem.

Először is, a főcímdal. Sokkal jobb, mint amit megszokhattunk az ilyen jellegű anime művektől. Ez győzött meg végleg, hogy a DICE legalább részben amerikai mű.

Igaz, legalább kiderült belőle, mit is takar a DICE: DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises. A kedves narrátor le is fordítja az intro végén, szóval ettől most eltekintenék (egyrészt hihetetlenül lámer az a fordítás, másrészt nem jut jobb eszembe).

Első ránézésre a sorozat nagyjából az FZero és a Power Rangers keverékének tűnik. Másodikra is =).

Inkább nem részletezek semmit tobább, mert most is az megy, és érdekel, úgyhogy akinek további információk kellenek, talál egy szép adagot a sorozat Wikipediás oldalán.

I don’t have any real subject to write about now, so i’ll just post my experience about the time when i was sucking with the domains. I think it’s quite funny, that for the hungarian provider, where valerauko.net is registered, it takes about 2 months to register the domain (seen that last autumn) and almost a week to move it, while GoDaddy registers in the matter of hours and moves the domain in a few minutes. That’s the difference.

At the mininova torrent site, when i was looking for the latest Savers episode raw (unsubbed) version, i found something that surprised me a lot: the first 4 Digimon seasons downloadable, with many seeds. Sadly, because of the WtW subs, there are very few seeds for the Savers raws, so it takes ages to download my long awaited episode (i don’t care for the subs) – for example, there are no seeds and not even a single peer (except me) for the 8th episode, so i can’t download it – i’ll have to stick with the subs, or get it some other way, like getting a batch torrent and downloading only that file – i’ve already done that with the sixth episode.

Anyway, i’m off watching the 190th Naruto ep… report coming later.

Ma reggel végre megnéztem a Naruto 190. részét, aminek feliratos változatát a Dattebayo csapat tegnap adta ki. A főcímdal alatt, az egyik szokásos üzenethelyen (tehát ahol a feliratozók üzennek a nézőnek) azt lehetett olvasni, hogy “ez a rész nem is olyan rossz” – és valóban, a korábbiakhoz képest tényleg magasabb színvonalú.

Ismét csak a DB fejlesztésének állásával zaklatlak titeket… Tegnap, amikor az azonosító függvényeket írtam, az SMF fórum kódjában néztem szét, hogy ők hogy csinálták, és ott bukkantam egy ügyes kis megoldásra (beépített PHP függvény, szóval nem ötletlopás), ami milliószor leegyszerűsíti a munkámat, mivel nemes egyszerűséggel kiüti az XSLT-t. Hurrá! =)

A keresés ugyan várhatóan egy kicsit tovább fog tartani, mint különben, de mindennek ára van, és jelenleg az elkészülési időpont minél előbbre hozása élvez mindenek feletti prioritást.

Ugyanakkor, mivel a DB régi, UW-s tárhelye teljesen meghalt, felpakoltam oda néhány ügyes átirányító oldalt, az egész cuccot meg felpakoltam erre a tárhelyre, így már elérhető a http://www.digimonbackup.net/ címen.

Ismét csak hír, hogy ma reggel, amikor bekapcsoltam a gépet a tűzfal jelezte, hogy változott az IP-m. Nagyszerű, most állítgathatom át a no-ip.org-os domainomat, meg a fájlcserélők beállításait. Hepinessz end dzsoj. Áldalak, UPC. Vicces, hogy ma néha újracsatlakozott a kábelmodem – ez mondjuk netezés közben fél perc megállást jelent, ami ugye bosszantó, ha sietek.

Ismét csak jó hír, hogy a szokott helyen megint gyülekeznek az esőfelhők – csak reménykedni tudok, hogy úgy határoznak, felettünk válnak meg terhüktől, ugyanis a hőmérséklet megint a tűrhetetlen közelébe kúszott, a tüdőm meg már fáj a sokszázalékos páratartalommal való folyamatos küszködésben…

Itt is van egy kép a kicsikékről, vigyázat, nagyon nagy, lusta voltam összezsugorítani =). Felteszem azt a képet is, amit tegnap este csináltam az erdőről, szintén nagyon nagy méretű, és az benne a vicc, hogy sikerült lekapnom egy szentjánosbogarat, pedig nem is láttam, hogy ott van =). A képet vaku nélkül csináltam, a fényképező magától világosította ki.

Rage – Speak of the dead

You can read the first review on my blog – on the Rage album i wrote about before…

To begin with, this Rage has nothing to do with the rap-metal band Rage against the machine. This Rage is much older, and in my opinion, much better – at least the quality is. The strange is with this album is the amount of instrumental tracks – while an other band makes one such track only on every third album, Rage made no less than five on only this release. The first two, the fourth, the sixth and the seventh are in the lack of the vox humana, but all five of them are very well composed works.

There seems to be a break after the song titled Beauty – while there are mostly slow, emotional tracks before, after Beauty the style changes a lot. There are no instrumental tracks, and all songs are a lot more hard. No fear is the first of this series, and it is like a connector between the slow and the faster songs. It has both slow and fast parts, though the fast ones are rather dominant. The verses are easy to listen to, easy to sing, and very hard to forget. My favourite song from the album is the one that comes after, titled Soul survivor. It’s an original, fast, very tuneful song, so high in quality that i could only compare it to Iron Maiden or Blind Guardian songs. Turn my world around is the third 100% perfect song from the album, with a chorus that any band could envy.

To sum it all up, this year’s Rage release worth buying, to everyone who listens to metal. Really.

Ma is a MuggleNeten jártam, és a híreket olvasgattam, amikor megláttam egy különösen vicces darabot – pontosabban ott még nem volt vicces, csak érdekes. Készült nemrégiben egy felmérés, amiben 3000 embert kérdeztek meg, hogy ki lenne az a személy, akit megőriznének a jövőnek. JK Rowling ezen hetedik lett – úgy tűnik a Harry Potter hype szó szerint életbiztosítás. A vicces az volt, amikor megnéztem a MuggleNetes hírnél megjelölt eredeti forrást… A lista első helyezettje Wayne Rooney, az angol válogatott csatára, a második pedig Robbie Williams… Ha valakinek ez a választása… Érdekelne, hogy vajh’ Bruce Dickinson ottvan-e azon az ominózus listán =)…Érdekes, hogy a top 10-ben csak Rowling volt nő – bár a politikusokat és a királyi család tagjait kihagyták belőle.

Ugyanígy a MuggleNet (tudom, hogy sokat írok mostanában róluk, abba is fogom hagyni hamarosan) híroldalán találtam ezt a kis képregényt – nagyon poén, ha valaki nem érti, lefordíthatom…

The comments system is up and running, all changes made successfully. From now on, everyone can comment without registration, though if you don’t want to get impersonated, you may favour registering – it’s not complicated but guards you somewhat.

If you get any errors, please report them so i can correct all little bugs.

The only thing still remaining is the spam filter, which will take a while – not because it’s hard to make, but because i have to collect all possible spam words, without closing out legitimate comments. I also added an instant comment remover, so if anyone does anything that i don’t like, i can delete the comment in one click.

Finish

Not as if i finished anything (save the comments system, which is working fine – for me), on the contrary, i have done hardly anything except planning (yeah, still only planning) the system DB should work, and wrote some of the XSLT sheets to format the data (you’ll get a lot of that).

Finish is referring to finishing this day. Yeah, i’m already (once again) fed up with sitting here hours long not completing a single function. The hard is that i’ve to find a good point to start from, or this way i’ll have to develop all parts simultaneously.

Also, i want to note a little fact i’ve stumbled upon when browsing MuggleNet: the fifth Harry Potter book, Order of the Phoenix was released exactly three years and a day ago. How nostalgic. Surprising time runs so fast, since i can clearly remember reading my sister’s english version of the book in my room daylong months before the hungarian one was even released. It was so fun =). Just as back last summer, when i was doing the same with the sixth book (i got my own copy when i was on holiday).

By the way, here comes another pic i found on the net long-long ago, no idea where.
