Loads of adrenaline wasted for nothing. Not so huge loads, but still. I was a bit pessimistic about my math written exam, but it turned out quite good… 90%. About 20% over my expectation. I was very surprised when i’d seen the result—i could say lightningstruck (wouldn’t be true). On the other hand, my history ended up worse than expected, 85%. I don’t really agree with a couple of scores given for my essays, so i’ll go to school tomorrow and complain a lot. The literature/grammar one’s as expected, 92%. I planned to write this post in hungarian, but since it was an english turn now and i had nothing else to write about now…
Finished
I’m done with the textile merchant’s site, it will be up as soon as he registers the domain. I’ll help him naturally, but i don’t want to register it myself. I’d end up paying it, i’ve got the feeling. What else? My knee hurts like hell, because when i fell today, it ended up under me. Inconvenient. But at least i had no problems with it when i cycled. And i should be learning like something that always learns, because next monday it’s my math exam. I don’t want it to happen… I’d so much skip that day…
The other project’s layout is done too, i’ll start coding it sometime around tomorrow. These sentences are quite random, right? Well, these are the ones i decided should go into a blogpost, instead of twitting them. In the next version, i’ll have a twitter api for sure.
Douchebag
To be honest, i have no idea about what that word exactly means. I know it’s something offending, but i don’t plan to learn a new swearword. It must be something serious, because a senior girl got serious punishment for calling a school officer that. I wonder. I have no aims of becoming any secretary or whatever, that’s not my field. The most i’d accept to do is to become some kind of advisor and hide in the shadows. That girl is definitely different, because she does care about that stuff… The interesting thing is, how could they punish her for doing something that’s so vaguely related to school? I mean, it’s naturally related to school, but she didn’t write that in school hours, nor in the school building, nor on a school website. Still. I’d curse off the heads of those who’d try to do something like that with me, or have a huge laugh at them and make them the subject of public ridicule. In case they weren’t ridiculous enough until then… And at all, how dare they? I wonder why the girl took down that blogpost—i wouldn’t.
Plus-minus
Yesterday was a bit messed up. All day i had about as much energy in myself, that i could only eat and sleep. That’s what i did until mid-afternoon, when i got fed up with all this idleness and decided that probably my blood pressure’s low or somthing like that, and so i should move. A lot. So i did… Had an eight mile bikeride, and soon after about the same rollerskating. And that did the trick. I cheered up and filled up with energy. Even though i should’ve benn tired… I bought a bottle of tonic for my headache (my mom said it’s good for that), and watched a CG– and a horror movie, and both were good (though only parts of the Robinsons one). Good… The Mist was far not as scary as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but more entertaining (not a drama at all). The concept’s simple: the long-forgotten history of the town reappears as a fisherboat accidentally disturbs something it shouldn’t have. The ghosts appear (at first only the mist they create), haunt and hunt people down. That’s all…
Gawd
This morning i read the new Naruto and Bleach manga from MangaShare as usual. I expected these chapters to be shocking (as usual), but not to the extent they actually were. Events are speeding up, in both. Bleach was very action-packed in the past… Umm… Okay, so as long as i’ve been reading the manga, it was very action-packed. But it’s just fantastic how that switch back to the hundred-year-ago events turned out to be… Turned out to be… Turned out to be just as cool as the present. Or even more. I don’t plan to spoil anyone here, so i rather shut up. Things are getting together. I hope this won’t mean the end of Bleach—i’m way too addicted to survive that. The Naruto, on the other hand, was a bit silent in the past few chapters. Just talking, and it wasn’t much different this time either, with a huge difference: a decision has been made. A decision that’s probably a harbringer of war. And amazing cool fights. Some people in there (in both series) are strong so much, that it’s just not fair. Can’t wait til next weekend.
Books arrived
Not so long ago i ordered two books from the net, even though i have about ten books to read already. These two are the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus (Tractatus for short) by Ludwig Wittgenstein and the Necronomicon (Kitab Al Azif) by “Abdul Alhazred, the Mad Arab” (in fact by H. P. Lovecraft). I’ve read a lot about Tractatus, and studied Wittgenstein for my essay about him, so i think that one will be iteresting–and with this one, my philosophy collection grows by one more. Now it’s Either/Or by Kierkegaard (hungarian translation), The Seducer’s Diary (in german) also by Kierkegaard, Ecce Homo (in hungarian) and Thus spoke Zarathustra (in german) by Nietzsche, History of Western Philosophy by Russell (in english) and now the Tractatus (in hungarian). Not enough.
The Necronomicon is a book many have heard about, and as in case of many Lovecraft-myths, this one’s considered real by many too. It’s quite popular, there was a movie about it and stuff… But i’ve only got it, because i really liked the Call of Cthulhu and the Dunwich Horror. That Lovecraft knew something…
(I was lazy to look up all the ISBN codes and associated websites, but at least double-checked all titles, so if you want to look any up, you could.)
Dead
For some unknown reason (maybe waking up an hour earlier for nothing?) i’m now dead tired, and that’s unusual. But still in five minutes i’ll set out for my everyday bikeride around town—i want to improve my stamina. It’s scary how much a 30-mile ride can exhaust me. After that i’ll start stealing photos for the textile merchant’s site (today i asked him, and he said that i should steal them—after all it’s his site, his responsibility, not mine). The layout of the poker bonus/affiliate site is complete too, i should soon start coding its back-end, which will probably take a while, with the admin area and everything else, i think i could finish it by next week. These two only will bring me a nice amount of cash, so (i hope) i won’t really have financial problems in the summer. Though who knows. Today i won’t Livemocha (yesterday i started the spanish 101), that’s for tomorrow, or saturday. I think i’ll get myself a free day on saturday, and do no work, only such i do for my entertainment, as Livemocha or my own site. And reading. I-must-read-more. (It’s not a punishment to write this a hundred times by computer… Copy-paste ruins old-style education.)
Rest
Up to three pm, i was designing another job i received lately. It is an urgent one too, so i guess i should have a running version by next week. The textile merchant’s site will be completed totally in a few days, i’ll contact him and do the webspace rental and domain registration process together, and also choose the images which i should steal from other websites (or take a few myself). The other site deals with poker bonuses, poker rooms and such. I’m not really familiar with all this stuff, but i think i’ll manage to do it. This one needs lot more coding, since it’s almost totally dynamic content. It also needs an advanced admin area with a wysiwyg page editor. That will be fun. Luck i have one ready form a past project. Today i also received another order of a small site, three pages static, and they provide the content, so basically i’ll only have to do the layout. Simple. And cheap (for them). The only extra for this one will be that i’ll have to set up an e-mail address for its domain. Too bad i can’t host all these people—my domain hosting capabilities are quite much limited (i can only have 5 domains pointing on my space, and at this speed i’d run out of that 5 quickly—especially since i already have two, and i plan to register a third one soon). I like this job.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Sunday evening, after getting bored with everything i tried to do, i (what a rare occasion!) sat down in front of the telly. Soon later began a movie on HBO… The Exorcism of Emily Rose. The opening themes ensured me that this one will provide me a scary experience. Almost. One half of the movie was the kind of great horror movie, that makes you run out of the world without showing you anything to be afraid of. This time it was quite easy, as otherworldly (thus invisible) demons attacked first the poor Emily Rose (whom later they actually possessed), and later everyone else closely related to the case. But the story of Emily Rose is past. The movie starts with her death… This way, the flashbacks to Emily’s story and the current strange events (no surprise closely related to the demons) around her exorcist, Father Moore, and his lawyer, Erin Bruner, are the horror part of the movie. But the other part is drama: the court scenes and other demonless current events are deeply shocking, especially if one lets the world of the movie surround him. This movie is free of that annoying fault, the only one in M. Night Shyamalan’s works (Signs, The Village): after a while he shows the evil we should fear, this way actually making the scary less scary. We are less scared of something we’ve seen than of something we haven’t. The demons here don’t materialize, only a shady cloaked figure is seen in some flashbacks – else only the blackening eyes of Emily tell the tale.
As of yet
Remember my plans for today. Well, more or less i’ve done all i planned. Until now i worked on the textile merchant’s website, i translated about one and a half page of content (this was dead hard, all those special phrases), all the meta-data, the messages and the website frame. Tomorrow i’ll have to translate two pages to english and three to german, which will take a while. Now i’ll start copying the grammar questions, and around seven i’ll drop my pen and pick my book up. I want to read at least fifty pages today. Tomorrow come at least fifty more, as well as a part of the remaining grammar questions. I’ve got the feeling that i’ll only finish all of them on wednesday, but that’s fine with me. And in my free time (if any) i’ll hang around Livemocha.
