Today all i’m going to do is actually quite a load. I’ve to do a quick project port from one engine to another, also making it a rocking layout, then write a presentation on Japan—i decided to do it about the different languages present on the japanese islands (japanese dialects, ryukyuan languages, ainu) with some culture overview included. I guess it’ll take a couple of hours, but i think i will enjoy doing it just as much as the chaos-theory one last week. This week i’ll also have to run a query like this:

SELECT `name`, COUNT(`important_people`.`name`) AS `people`, `presents`.*, `afford`
FROM `important_people`
LEFT JOIN `presents` ON `important_people`.`name` = `presents`.`person
LEFT JOIN `bank_account` ON `presents`.`price` < `bank_account`.`afford`
WHERE `presents`.`price` < `afford`/`people`
GROUP BY `name`
ORDER BY `name`

Back @LJ

My self-made blog is back online again. Check it out now and then, i update often…

News @LJ

Today i checked the results of my advanced (EU C1) english exam results online (so it’s not official yet), and i got 75% on the oral part and 77% on the written part. That’s a pass grade.

That was good to read, but my IT teacher told me today, that though my competition test was good enough to pass, the minimal score for getting into the second round was roughly 30 points over my result. Sucks.

And, naturally, tired, hungry and underslept (a vale-logism (i hope), means not having slept enough), as usual. At least, i put my documents folder in order, burnt loads of unneeded stuff on a dvd, so i freed a nice bunch of megs, and won’t need to browse 10-15 directory deep into my chaotic folder tree to find a long-used file.

Trillian @LJ

Trillian, the IM program i’ve been using until now, simply refuses to load. Nothing changed since yesterday, nothing i can recall. Funny?

Oh man @LJ

From the LJ blog too.

Fine. Guess i’m exhausted like a piece of coal after burning for a week all long. Today i held a presentation at my school’s annual maths student circle, about chaos theory. On my part, it was good i think, i myself enjoyed it very much, even though or maybe exactly because of the great excitement before. You sense it correctly that still something was missing—the visual presentation i prepared (naturally in PowerPoint, as i couldn’t expect the school equipment accept anything else) wouldn’t start. You may guess how much this annoys me, after spending hours and hours working on it. Well, anyway, i hope i’ll be chosen for the end-of-term circle, where the term’s best presentations will be held again. Heh. Next week i’m doing another one too, in the language circle—it’ll be something about Japan, naturally at least partially (though i’ve thought of doing it completely) in Japanese, but the exact subject is still to be figured out.

Tomorrow i have two philosophy lessons, and i still have to write two essays, at least four pages each. I’m seriously thinking about postponing this a few days…

I don’t know what’s going to happen with my space. The problem is, my account is still suspended due to those illegal files of a hostee, the hosting company won’t take the trouble of responding to my e-mails, and my account would expire on the fourteenth anyway. I don’t care if i need to switch hosts, as i already found some better ones, but i would need the files and databases, especially those of the hostees. Troublesome—or as Shikamaru would say: めんどくせぇ mendokusē

Dead @LJ

From my LJ blog, i wrote this while my account was suspended.

My own blog is dead at the moment. Rather say, my space is dead. The reason behind this is that one of my hostees used a hacked forum engine, and was caught, so they suspended my account. The funniest thing of all is, that they don’t respond to my e-mails, in which i ask them the details of what’s going on. This sucks. But at least i have this blog too at LJ, i post this here, maybe someone will read it, maybe not. The sure thing is, when my space will be back, i’ll copy this there too.

It’s also interesting, that while i couldn’t write, i had ideas storming in my brain, but the very moment i opened this page with this nicely formatted form to post my stuff, all there remained is silence. Troublesome, so to say.

At least in the near future i’ll get my payments, so i could start shopping for christmas, pay the next year’s rent for my space (this year’s will expire in a week) and live happily until i die. Well, this last doesn’t really have anything to do with my payments, but still.

Prog Radio

All i can say, the SHOUTcast radio of PerfectProg.com is simply great. Me addicted.

Edit 21:14

This is just too much. It just started Worlds Collide by Apocalyptica. Man, this stream has everything my “prog playlist” has!

Oral

Advanced (C1) english oral exam 75%. No info about the written part yet though.

Down

Now in the aftIernoon i would so much have gone in town just to have a beer with a friend and have a good talk. Too bad no one was available, rather those who were were rather into getting drunk in some pub, and i didn’t want it that way. Well, it doesn’t really matter, this really is a low-feel afternoon and eve, too bad i can’t do much about it. Don’t feel like doing anything, maybe going out for a walk would be nice, or driving just aimlessly somewhere, but it’s not probable that i’d do any of these. It’s sad to see how close relationships can alienate people.

Get away

Ok, now i got a bit annoyed by Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon. That dear thing simply refuses to work with my laptop’s wifi card, and since i’d connect to the net that way, i couldn’t even update it. So then i’ll wait till a new version will be out, update and maybe, maybe then live happily with it. Until then, thanks no.
