Yesterday in Shibuya we watched the sixth Harry Potter movie, and i must say that it was great. I wanted to watch it in japanese, because that’s very funny (i’ve seen the fifth in japanese and it was simply hilarious), but this one was the english original. I remembered most of the story, but i feel i’ll have to read the last two books a few more times. So, the story was great, the acting was great and everything just passed together. Also, it brings back a lot of memories.

I read about the actors since then, and i’m always surprised by these details. I knew that Alan Rickman was Hans Gruber in the first Die Hard, one of my great childhood movies, but i didn’t realise he was the wealthy and powerful lord from Perfume, and i really want to see both the Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy in english and the Sweeney Todd movie, since he’s the voice actor of Marvin in the former and acts the villain judge in the latter. And he’ll be the Caterpillar in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Same goes for the strangely familiar and scarily mad Bellatrix Lestrange from the movie, Helena Bonham Carter. She was the fantastic Marla Singer in the even more fantastic Fight Club, she was also in the Sweeney Todd movie and she’ll be the Red Queen in the same Alice in Wonderland.

After reading even more character summaries, i really feel like i have to read the last two books again. And again.

On the way to Krakow and back we watched two movies on the bus. One was Meet the Fockers, a hilarious movie with a couple of big names like Ben Stiller, Robert de Niro or Dustin Hoffman. It’s not really about deep thoughts or something very philosophic, the only thing it says is what’s neccessary to keep the movie running for two hours. The hungarian translations were good too, sometimes even better than the english originals.

The other one was Mr. & Mrs. Smith. That one had a better story for sure, and seemed a lot more professional (probably because it wasn’t supposed to be a comedy). It’s very full of action, be that action shooting countless bullets and other stuff intended to kill at each other or practicing the activities of a healthy married couple with great intensity. It’s highly entertaining, even making me laugh occasionally (though mostly at scenes where i guess i’m not supposed to laugh, but it was so full of violence or tension that it was almost comical).

Both are worth watching once, focusing just and only on entertainment. Different ways, but the goal’s the same.

Yesterday i watched a movie that a long time ago Glendi suggested, Juno. It was great. It’s about a high schooler indie girl who successfully gets pregnant on her first ahem… sexually active act. The movie’s about her nine troubled months, from the first doubts of whether to bear the baby or not, and all that’s coming after. There’s a lot of crying and a lot of laughing in there. The story’s altogether simple, but great. And Ellen Page is a beauty.

Her cool style makes this movie special. That’s what “indie” supposed to be, not that totally trend-dependent hype called indie nowadays. The music’s great and perfectly fitting, as well as the graphics of the opening.

Once again i’m in trouble saying i enjoyed this movie. It was great for sure. But a drama (i think) isn’t supposed to be fun. Yet… Juno has a lot of fun in it too. I say it’s a must-see for everyone, especially those teens who are, so to say, already sexually active.

A huge 5/5. Fantastic.
