Never had a milk stout before, and honestly, if this is the “great” “standard” for it, then I won’t have any again.
I’m not a big fan of sweet things, and stouts usually fall in that category for me. But I got this bottle exactly for that reason: a late night dessert instead of munching cookies. It kinda works out.
Guinness is known world wide as “the dark beer”, since it’s pretty much the only beer not a lager that’s available in pubs. I felt like having a stout today, so I gave this brew a try.
The brews of the Osaka Minoh Beer have been winning the world beer awards for years now. Not that I was aware of this when I picked up this stout, but it was worth mentioning nonetheless (and it kind of explains the price tag).
Trying out something new is usually a great thing, and I’ve been interested by the name of “oatmeal stouts” for a while now. Thing is, I’ve never before had any of these extreme stouts (like chocolate stout for example), so I don’t have a basis for comparison.
Another beer from the Echigo lineup, I had quite the expectations of this stout.
It’s no secret that I love Kyoto. That’s why this bottle of beer caught my attention: it’s from Kyoto. A closer look would reveal that it’s “schwarz type” (sic) beer.
