The brews of the Osaka Minoh Beer have been winning the world beer awards for years now. Not that I was aware of this when I picked up this stout, but it was worth mentioning nonetheless (and it kind of explains the price tag).
A hétvégén végül megcsináltam a mákos sütit, amihez otthonról kaptam receptet drótpostán, és a családi kakaós rudat (pötyi) is, aminek már megvolt egy ideje a receptje. Előbbibe nem volt sütőporom, és ez meg is látszott rajta, utóbbi pedig jóval puhább lett a kelleténél.
Aztán hétfőn, amíg odakint a tájfun tombolt, én bent japán-stílusú piskótát (castella) próbáltam készíteni. Bár ez se nőtt meg, ahogy kellett volna neki, a stúdióban volt sikere.
Vasárnap megint tervezek sütni valamit, bár még nem tudom, mi legyen. Valami egyszerű kakaós talán.
Winter is. Well, eventually. For now it’s still just autumn, but today it was so cold all day that I was wondering if the weather mistook the month. Yesterday was somewhat warmer thanks to the typhoon that passed on Monday night, but today I was cold in my new hoodie. I also had to close the windows for the night due to the cold, something I haven’t done in the past half a year (except when typhoons were above me).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I like autumn with all its cold and grayness, it just caught me a bit off guard this time.

Múlt héten a 18. tájfun járt erre, ma éjszaka pedig az év legnagyobb viharának kikiáltott 19, Vongfong. Az előző sem hatott meg különösebben, csak annyira érintett, hogy elköltöttem az évek alatt összegyűlt Rakuten pontjaimat, és vettem belőlük egy pizzát. Igen, pizzát rendeltem a vihar közepén, mert nem volt itthon kaja és nem volt hangulatom kimenni az esőbe. Szegény futárt azért sajnáltam.
Ma már előrelátóbb voltam, és felkészültem, hogy biztosan legyen mit ennem bevásárlás nélkül is. Cserébe ma (is) sütöttem, ezúttal egy elvileg japán találmány (de azért nyugati stílusú) sütit. Azt hiszem, puha piskótatészta, bár amennyire én az ilyen dolgokhoz értek, akár rétes is lehet.
A legjobb persze, hogy hála a tájfunnak, már hét körül szabadultam melóból. Meg tudnám szokni (az esőt is).
Trying out something new is usually a great thing, and I’ve been interested by the name of “oatmeal stouts” for a while now. I have oatmeal for breakfast basically every day anyway, so I was wondering how that adds up with a stout. Thing is, I’ve never before had any of these extreme stouts (like chocolate stout for example), so I don’t have a basis for comparison.
