ハンガリーのルーテル教会や信仰生活

歴史概観
ハンガリーは西暦1000年、István(イシュトヴァーン)一世の即位でキリスト教の王国になった。そのときからハンガリーの主要な宗教はカトリック風のキリスト教である。20世紀の共産制度までそれに衰退が一回だけあった。それはルーテルに始められた宗教改革のおかげであった。
ルーテルは1517年ドイツのWittenberg(ウィッテンベルグ)で公表された95ヶ条の論題がその時代の信仰生活をだいぶ変化させた。そのたぶん最大な改善は聖書の翻訳であったといえるであろう。ハンガリーにはルーテルの95ヶ条後20年しかたったと、1541年聖書全体の翻訳が出版された。改革が進むと、1560年代はハンガリーのルーテル教会が始まり、evangélikus(エヴァンゲーリクシュ)という。ハンガリーの宗教生活は20世紀まで盛んになってきた。
しかし、20世紀の共産主義や極右独裁制で信者は過酷に迫害され、信者の陣数は非常に少なくなってきた。だが、迫害の中でも、ハンガリーの教会が生き続けた。

In high school, we often had good laughs about the american way of saying everything “politically correct”. Change the name of something, because the old name has too many negative connotations. The only problem is, that until you use that new name for the same thing, or group of people, nothing will change. If that thing or group of people don’t change, those “negative connotations” will be back. Quick.
The same goes for the gipsies in Hungary, who have been campaigning to be called roma. I don’t have a problem with that, it’s their name for themselves in one of their languages. It feels good for me too when someone identifies me as “magyar” instead of “hungarian”. But in the case of roma as well, the new word started to gain the old word’s negative meanings. And that won’t change until there will be no place for negative preconceptions about that social group. (For some reason, jews apparently don’t care about their word being used as a swearword…)
Then, celebrations. I’ve heard about an american idea, that christmas should be called winter holiday instead, because the christian word isn’t appropriate for all the various religious holidays of that season. True, but. Christmas as-is has a tradition of at least a thousand years in western culture. And the States has its roots in a christian culture as well, how ever religiously unaligned it wants to be. In the jewish quarters of a big city, i guess i’d not see christmas celebrations. Whatever, long live the christmas creep.

Egy jól szisztematizált serpa
Itt vagyok Japánban, ez már majdnem Kína… Csak sajnos vannak beadandóim. Még kettő. Csütörtökön meg akartam írni kettőt is, ebből az lett, hogy még a japánt is csak péntek este tudtam befejezni – igaz, az már legalább kész van, küldtem is a tanárnak, hogy olvassa el. Főleg ismeretelmélet témájú írás, olvasható Google Docson. Természetesen japánul. Stilisztikai hiba rengeteg van benne, de sajnos nincs időm még átjavítgatni az összes szóismétlést, és tartok tőle, hogy nem is lesz már csütörtökig. Csütörtökön ugyanis töri vizsga, amihez egyrészt szintén kell beadandót írni, másrészt még a tankönyvből is kell hozzá anyag. Nem fogok azért megszakadni érte, most az összes vizsgán pontosan annyit tervezek teljesíteni, amennyi belefér, nem kétszer annyit, mint az őszieknél. Nem számít már sehova, ugyanis…
Tehát ma a káoszelméletes témájú közgáz beadandómon akartam dolgozni, amiből végül az lett, hogy elolvastam az összes segédanyagot, amit kinyomtattam (van vagy nyolcvan oldal összesen), és változatlanul nincs semmi ötletem, hogy kéne megírni. Eredetileg konkrét problémát akartam megcsinálni, például kaotikus mozgások a budapesti értéktőzsdén, de ezzel több probléma is van. Egyrészt, nem vagyok meggyőződve róla, hogy a tick-by-tick adatsor elérhető ingyen. Másrészt, nem biztos egyáltalán, hogy találok benne kaotikus mozgásokat, főleg látványosakat és egyszerűeket, még ha (harmadrészt) egyáltalán sikerülne is elemeznem az elolvasott anyagok alapján. Ráadásul az internetkapcsolat szokás szerint alig működik (vicces, hogy gyakran (átmenetileg) stabilabb és gyorsabb, ha fut a torrent kliens). Ha meg nem ilyen elemzést csinálok, ami gyanús, hogy ennyi idő alatt esélytelen (tudom, én vagyok a hülye hogy nem álltam neki korábban, de megfigyelem magamon, hogy nem tudom egyszerűen komolyan venni a problémákat, ha kellő időtávolságban vannak még), akkor nem marad más, mint egy átfogó ismeretterjesztő írás, nagyjából az elolvasott cikkekből a lehetőségek szerint érdekesen összeollózva. Közel sem izgalmas vagy nagy kihívás, de legalább reális. (De akkor is, később valamikor mindenképp megjátszom a BÉT (vagy más tőzsde) elemzést, ha ingyenes az adat…)
Pontosítok. Most töltöttem le az utóbbi tizenhárom év adatsorát, és most azonnal neki is állok elemezgetni. Szerencsére Excel, úgyhogy könnyű vele számolni és van sok erős stat függvény. Kíváncsi leszek az eredményekre. Minden elismerésem a budapesti értéktőzsdéé.

TOKYO, Japan — The United Nations has ruled that the Japanese Government breached international human rights law by detaining two Greenpeace activists who uncovered major corruption in the Japanese whaling programme.

Please read that whole article. It kind of says it all. Two japanase environmental activists were arrested and tried because they uncovered a smuggling of whale meat, theoretically illegal. Apparently not. They intercepted a “cardboard” box, which contained stuff it was not supposed to contain: whale meat. The reaction of “justice” was just as expected. In Japan, apparently, they are the criminals, charged with theft and trespass. They are facing trial this monday, where they could be sentenced to up to ten years of prison. Note.
Japanese whaling is carried out under a provision of the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling of 1946, which allows for the animals to be killed for scientific research and the leftover meat to be “processed” as that country sees fit.

Diszkrimináció
Két hírre szeretnék itt és most reflektálni, mert nagyon erőteljesen csapta ki a biztosítékot. Anno elég sokat kerestem egy olyan hírportált, ahol nem kell naponta ezerötszáz cikket átnyálazni, csak a lényeges hazai és nemzetközi híreket kapom. Végül meglett, néhány gazdasági Index-feed és a Google News “személyében”. Ez utóbbin akadtam a fentebb említett két hírre.
Először is, hogy Strassburg reklamál, amiért “könnyebb fogyatékos” gyerekeket speciális osztályba raktak (legalábbis akkor azt mondták rájuk). Megjegyzem, amennyire én tudom, abban az időszakban még nem is volt ennyire szőrszálhasogató a diszkrimináció-mánia. Először is, egy átlag tanárnak nincs képzettsége (szerintem) arra, hogy “könnyebb fogyatékos” gyerekekkel boldoguljon – az Isten szerelmére, soknak még a “normálisak” is gondot okoznak! Arról meg nem is beszélve, hogy többször hallottam olyanról, hogy fenyegetik a szakértői vizsgálatot végzőket, hogy nyilvánítsák a gyereket debilnek, még ha nem is az – kell a támogatás, ugye… És akkor Strassburg reklamál. Ami kiakaszt, az nem az, hogy a magyarországi ilyen diszkrimináció ellen reklamálnak. Oké, legyen integrált oktatás, adják rá a pénzt. Azt mondjuk nem értem, hogy a fogyatékos miért egyenlő a cigánnyal… Csak mert ő azt úgy szeretné beállítani? Megmosolyogtat. Az viszont nem, hogy valamiért a hírekben nem olvasok arról, hogy az EU hogy megszidja Szlovákiát azért, amit az ottani magyarokkal művel. Az első hír, amiben elmarasztaló külföldi véleményről olvastam, mai, és még csak nem is EU, hanem az amerikai kongresszus ítélné el a szlovák intézkedéseket. Elítélné. Hurrá.

Starbucks Ethiopia Sidamo
Today i ran out of Gold Coast, so i went and bought a new pack. Of a new type, Ethiopia Sidamo. As the name suggests, it’s an arabica coffee from the horn of Africa, exactly from that one province of Ethiopia.
It’s strong. It has a very characteristic coffee-bitter taste, a good smokiness, and i hope a lot of caffeine, because i have to “wake up”. Its steam smells exactly how i’d imagine the smell of roasted flowers. It doesn’t have a thick body, but because of the strength mentioned earlier, i don’t miss it either. The ground coffee has a very, really very strong fresh smell. Actually, its smell carries the message “i’ll kick you high”, and it seems to be true. The whole coffee is fresh, strong and springy, and i like that.
I get the feeling that i’ll really like this one, maybe as much as my grand favourite Italian roast.
Work, work
Just as all the nice green orc peons say. Work, work. Today i want to finish at least two of my reports, and the powerpoint for my presentation. I hope i won’t end up like `aquasixio‘s character in Blowing Bubbles–at least not before i’m done.
Worth sharing, part two
Worth sharing was intended with content that got its place only in this post. I didn’t think i’ll end up writing that much stuff without any particular topic. I wanted to show off a few stuff i stumbled upon in the past few days… But indeed, that feels so empty. Then this post will be empty.
First a drawing of Mickey Mouse and Goofy going punk—too bad tumblr images can’t be easily traced back to the tumblog that posted them, else i’d link there. By the way, i like this version of the characters more, feels closer to me—wonder why. Punk was there at the start of my real musical life, the time i was reborn from the world of Vengaboys and radio pop into what slowly would become what i am now. Actually at first i listened to more punk than metal. It was so long ago, my last.fm couldn’t record it. How could it, last.fm was barely founded then! Looking back, that time i was often playing some war game on my sis’ Win 3.1 computer, i forgot its name… But at least found an online Win 3.1 imitation, it’s funny that a website could act as if… Anyway, since then the hammer-wielding long-haired metal bands won the fight, and then let “equality” rule my music tastes—”equality”, since they would stay the dominant element anyway. The most recent “diplomat” in there is the russian band Слот, the Слот I album of whom i nicked off Olga’s pendrive when i copied the last TBBT (soft kitty…—heh, spoiled) for her. Although i can only read and not understand, that worked (works) well with Ленинград, and works here as well. I understood Хаос (after all, i’m doing a report about it, i mean chaos, just in theeconomy), and it turned out to be a great song…

Worth sharing
Lately i had hardly anything to write about. Of course i can go diary or post random deviantArt favourites, but that’s not really the interesting content that i like to write. And this tendency won’t be changing in the coming week, as i have three reports, a presentation and an exam to prepare for, just to be followed by more exams a few days later. It’s plain delightful.
In school time i just leave my computer with torrent on, and turn it off when i get home. This way my downloading doesn’t disturb anyone – most people are in class, and those who are not are so few that my 150k share of the bandwidth doesn’t effect them much (i hope). And i’m in serious need: as written earlier, i caught up to the series that more or less kept me sane the past three months with doses of laugh for lunch- and dinnertime, and i can already feel the withdrawal symptoms.
So i started getting and watching stuff, anime (Digimon Savers, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop) and other series (Firefly, as for now, beside How i met your mother, Big Bang Theory and Skins, and planning IT crowd, Weeds and Californication) as well. Lucky Wendy has the space for them.
