Going down (for maintenance)

I wish. Yesterday after the last class we had to move a lot of stuff for today’s university festival live, so i was dead tired already when i got home. But i still had to do the quality check for this week’s Shippuuden, so it was almost two am by the time i got to bed. And i had to wake up way earlier than i would’ve wanted to (though later than i was supposed to), because of the aforementioned live performance. Where actually i’m not even performing (neither are most of the other first-years)… And tomorrow it continues. From morning till dusk, then we have to pack everything back, and then we’ll go partying japanese style, which stands for eating and drinking as much as we can. Mostly the former, though, considering i don’t think they could handle me if i got wasted.

But before that all, even though i’m (as expected) dead tired, i still have to do a Bleach quality check as well. And considering the circumstances, it will take a while and not to mention piss me off.

Megcsináltam az e heti Shippuudenben is a rám eső részt… pontosabban annyit belőle, amit magamtól is tudtam. Elvileg úgy lett volna, hogy egy korábbi feliratból átmásolom és igazítom a dalszövegeket, de a WoF honlapja nem elérhető, úgyhogy nincs felirat se, amiből ki tudnám másolni.

Cserébe megcsináltam a Shiki ötödik részének a fordítását, és végre történt valami (bár a negyedik rész cliffhangere után várható volt), úgyhogy nagyjából egy lélegzetvétellel azóta ledaráltam a maradék hat részt is. Tud ez izgalmas lenni.

A fennmaradó nem csekély időben (az ebéd kivételével) egész pontosan egy dolgot csináltam: a Rancid Up to no good számát játszottam basszusgitáron. Egyszerű, de nagyszerű, és jó játszani.

Ennyi volt a mai nap. Tartalmas.

Free time zero

My days are a series where the variable indicating my free time is a random number for each day between 0.1n and 0.5n where n is one hour. Not that i mind being busy with something all the time, just it’d be nice to finally be able to sit down and write a decent blogpost about something else than being busy too, maybe even before 2 in the night, or by any chance (God forgive my impudence) both… (Not happening.)

Today i woke half an hour earlier, because we had a short practice before the first period. At least, we would’ve had one, if our drummer hadn’t overslept. Nevertheless me and the guitarist played Anarchy a few times and then classes…

As soon as i got home (4 pm) i fixed the translations of the new opening and ending songs of Bleach and published ep 292.

Then i started practicing, first anarchy, then played around with the Red Hot songs… Ended up trying the guitar of Snow, but i need more practice to get the speed. Then i headed over to the Oasis songs (Don’t look back in anger and Roll with it) and got braindead. They are pretty much the same: same sounds, same progression, just a (not all that) different rhythm. Yet there are those tiny changes that i always miss. Annoying.

Then i realised i didn’t do the Xros Wars 13 translation yet, so i grabbed the raw‘s ass and translated it. Epic cliffhanger, can’t wait for the next episode.

Or to go to bed already.

When it came to subbing the latest Xros Wars episode, i was surprised no one was in the irc channel when i got there the usual hour or so after the episode aired to ask for the raw video and subtitles to translate… No one said a word while i was there for hours… Then i went to sleep. Next morning i got a notice from iMon that the WPP joint is over and we’re working by ourselves from now on. I’ve also seen the since deleted posts the WPP people left at the forums… As much as i knew them (not at all, it seems) i didn’t think they’d write such stuff without being seriously pissed off. That and knowing iMon’s habit to get a bit too 4chan-ish in arguments made me think he overreacted something and kicked them. Sorry about that, i really am.

Ma reggel korán kellett kelnem, mert első órában angol vizsgám volt. Szörnyen izgalmas, adrenalinpumpáló élmény volt. Őszintén reméltem, hogy nehezebb lesz, mint amire számítottam, vagy lesz benne valami más is, mint amit kiadtak előre, mert a tavalyi feladatsort öt perc alatt megcsináltam a mongol havernak vizsga előtt. Nem lett. Tíz perc alatt kész voltam, még jöttek be emberek amikor már vártam hogy mikor mehetek már.

Utána jöttem haza, és átnéztem a könyvelésnek azt a részét, ami tegnap este még nem akart átjönni, nem tudom, hogy hívják magyarul, de a vizsgán is természetesen előjött, úgyhogy jó hogy átnéztem. (Bár a vizsgán volt egy kérdés egy olyan táblázatról is, amiről semmi nem rémlett, remélem jól tippeltem.) Amúgy a vizsga könnyebb volt, mint számítottam, szinte mindennél úgy éreztem, hogy tudtam. Még csak a nyolcvan percet se kellett kihasználnom, meglepve láttam hogy csak ötven perc telt el, amikor már végeztem. Szerintem átmentem.

Aztán amikor hazajöttem gyorsan befejeztem a Xros Wars negyedik részének a fordítását, mert úgy tűnik, hogy hiába jelentettem be három hétre előre, hogy a könyvelés vizsga körül nem fordítok, nem volt senki más aki megcsinálta volna a fordítást… Na sebaj, egy másik csapat már úgyis kiadta, szerintem a miénk is kijön még ma este.

This one was messy. We realised that something was amiss when both the ts raw and the subtitle script from that ended in the middle of the episode. Meaning, roughly half of the raw was missing. Nevertheless, i did my translation of that part, then it was just waiting, hoping there was someone else recording too so that there will be a raw, any raw available that we could use. Luckily, there was.

So now both torrent and download of the english fansub of Digimon Xros Wars episode 03 is available at OnlineDigimon. Check it out, it’s worth it. There’s a nice bunch of fighting, my favourite Dorulumon shows up again and MadLeomon makes his return as well. So do the other humans, although i bet Taiki and the others expected some other kind of greeting from the other Generals. Watch it already!

Every ten minutes inspiration slaps me in the face with a big stinky fish so that i want to rush to the blog admin instantly to write an über-cool post, but then as soon as i open a new browser tab, all the inspiration disappears as if it was never even there to begin with. Whatever.

We had a bit of a problem with subbing the third Digimon Xros Wars. Not really past tense, but it seems we’ll manage to get a low quality english sub out in reasonable time. The problem was that the ElitistFags raw that’s kind of the only available TS raw of the episode, was corrupted and roughly half of it is missing. So we had to work off a low quality stream found on some anime website.

Also, using my extreme high level bookkeeping skills learnt at master Inayama in the Real Life rpg, and some basic Excel (sorry, OO Calc) techniques, i managed to calculate that i don’t need a job this summer after all, i can enjoy my freedom completely.

Tomorrow’s the risk exam, but… well, i might be facing optimism bias, but we can use whatever we want from books to dictionaries and i can write in english as well, so i can’t really help feeling safe. In english i could write the required length even if i had no idea about the topic.

The english subtitled second episode of Digimon Xros Wars is out at OnlineDigimon. I hurried with the translation as much as possible, but with editing and encoding and all the stuff it ended up being released just today. There’s torrent and direct download available as well as a discussion thread at OnlineDigimon.

The title of the episode is “Shoutmon, roar!” (シャウトモン、吠える). It’s really worth checking out, as “ep 02” ended up quite dramatic for a second episode. Watch it and you’ll know!

Ma megvolt az utolsó zh könyvelésből. Az első két zh 30 pontos volt, ezeken sikerült 12 és 14 pontot szereznem. Úgyhogy most az utolsó 40 pontos elég szoros lett. 34 pont kellett, hogy egyáltalán átmenjek. (60 ponttól kettes.) Szokásomtól eltérően tanultam. Háromszor is átolvastam az anyagot, addig kotlottam mindenen, amíg megértettem (nagyjából), ennek eredményeképpen meglepően jól ment a mai. Még a megoldásokat is megmondták rögtön utána. Volt egy igen szemét rész, amit direkt szó szerint bemagoltattak, erre összekeverték. Elszállt hat pont, meg a lélegzetem is, mert még egy hiba és bukó. De ha a jelölőlapon nem rontottam valamit el, akkor átmentem.

Ma nem reggeliztem, mert nem tűnt fel tegnap, hogy elfogyott a gabonapehely, meg időm se volt… Aztán a zh előtt meg nem volt kedvem nagyot kajálni, mert attól elálmosodok, úgyhogy ma eddig egy onigirit és egy Snickerst ettem. És még annyira éhes se vagyok…

Meg befejeztem a Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhoodot, ezt is elég gyorsan kinyírtam. Majd írok róla. Meg elkészültünk a Digimon Xros Wars második részének angol feliratával, ha iMon felébred majd OnlineDigimonra is kihírezi, én nem tudom, hogy kell az olyat.

After a quite long while i once again ended up in a fansub team, this time translating the new Digimon series, Xros Wars. The first episode is is available for download at OnlineDigimon with english subtitles. For now 720p torrent and direct download is available, with streaming and the 1080p coming as soon as possible. Raptr and i did the translations, (a bit too) many other people did the other jobs. I really hate Nene’s Monitormon in the end with their serious speech defects (聞き取り不能). If you haven’t seen the first Digimon episode since Savers, or just need the english subs, check it out!
