Try to

Be different by =armene, the next one of the Series, which is nearing it’s end, and actually was inspired by this very photo, if i remember right. I really like the colors… i’m working on a design based on a scheme kuler made out of it, tweaked a bit.

Speed of sound

This day seems to be good, but i will be dead and drained in not all that many hours. Reason: i’ve to prepare a presentation out of the outline of my economy report, which will focus on chaos in economics. Luckily, thanks to the great help of Google, i could as for now seem to have been able to collect sufficient resources, printed roughly eighty pages of journal articles, which i will read now. And then write an outline and do some lame powerpoint show for background.

My lunch was yellow, meaning i used a lot of turmeric, ginger and that’s mostly all there was to it, except for some weed i bought yesterday in Hanamasa, which is surprisingly hard even after boiling, but has a really nice taste.

Also, at least a pair of supersonic jets (army, oh sorry, pardon me, self defence force, most probably) is circling around here pretty low, so every fifteen minutes or so i can hear them, even if not see too much because of the dark. I could see them twice when i went to buy milk—and print the last of the economy sources i’ll use, and which i’ll start reading right now…

Sleep

Before going to sleep, i wanted to give this day something cheerful and nice, something that will warm me and you all up, something that could make me smile no matter how brain drained i am. So here comes the “twin picture” of from the white island, Move closer, of course again by ~st3fan3lboby. It’s exactly how it should be. She joins Stripes in the club of photo-perfect girls (meaning perfect among ones i have not met). This photo is teh love.

Move closer

Wendy

Wendy is my new external hard drive. She just arrived this evening, and it was love at first sight. She’s small (roughly the size of my aircon remote) and beautiful and black, with a bright white led showing when she’s paying attention. She’s fast like hell, i think moving my stuff from the internal to her was quicker than moving between internal partitions. Our relationship is just blooming, so i shouldn’t go into intimate details, but i don’t think i’ll ever get enough of her. She might be small on the outside, but she’s 320 gigs inside, and that’s four times the space i lived with the past many years! (Ever since i’ve got my first laptop, because when that broke, i got the old drive in the “new” one.) She’s very quiet, and although looks hot, she doesn’t get a temperature.

I watched the second episode of Skins season four just now (love the way the dad of the twins talks), and there wasn’t a glitch. I also backed out my whole music collection, and it took no longer than reading a page of World Embryo manga (roughly twenty minutes, which might be surprising for a manga page, but it really took that long because the network connection simply stopped functioning after eight pm, all the nice folks running their porn pr0n torrents full speed in peak hours).

But now’s the time to say Wendy good night and go to sleep.

Chaos

Again, i’m taking a dive into chaos theory, for the sake of my economy report. As easy to guess, i’m trying to find an interesting part of economic science where chaos plays a nice part and is not such a hell to describe without going into page-long formulae and alike. So far the most interesting part came up in a presentation by Benoit Mandelbrot, actually one of the main points of it, the usage of price graphs as sounds. Or maybe something else if i can find. But because of that, i mean the Brownian noise mention in there, i was listening to “brown noise” since then.

And while i was typing this post, i decided to have a run at the library and print another paper about chaos theory—i only hope it’ll be useful for the economy part as well. And i asked for suggestions for a good topic from a few friends studying economy for longer, and i repeat that here: if you have a good idea, don’t hesitate.

The other event of the day was that i tried a method for fixing that the hair not in the dreads grows longer and longer, one i’ve seen when i got it fixed in december. It works indeed, but if overdone it hurts like hell, so i’ve got a few sensitive spots on my head right now…

Stripes

Again, this week’s episode of the Series, this time it’s pink and black and toe and as close to perfection as could be, meaning i only know three better from my twenty years of experience. Stripes by ~possession really hits that button with “turn on” written on it.

FCUK

Complementing the earlier rant, here goes a nice photo by *angelreich, of Hong Kong “greeting” people. Certain comments make it even funnier.

Heavy rant

I’m pissed off. Very pissed off. It seems that our asshole dear history teacher has that strange disorder that i already observed multiple times in japanese people: even if you speak to them in japanese, slow and clear japanese just to be sure, they simply won’t understand. Probably they think that it won’t make any sense anyway, or that i stupid foreigner must want to mean something else that i can’t put in words. Last time he announced that we have to write about Fukuzawa Yukichi, who played a huge role in the changing age (menopause?) of the Meiji restoration. But it was unclear (to me) whether we have to write about that beforehand or only in the exam, i asked and “he” told me it was just in the exam. (I always ask at least twice again after the answer, just to make sure.) Now he told us we have to write at least 1000-2000 characters beforehand and the main points of that in the exam. I’m happy i can’t kill with my eyes or i’d be a murderer by now.

Chronflow

Chronflow is probably the best cover flow plugin for foobar2000. The only problem is that it throws “Can’t set pixel format” and “Img texture leak error 2” on certain video cards, mine included. I used foo_bubble_coverflow because of that for quite a while, but then i decided to give Chronflow another try, and to my greatest surprise it worked without problem. At least until i had to restart foobar. (For those who have the “Previous submission still in progress” problem with the foo_audioscrobbler plugin, stopping playback and restarting foobar solves the problem every time, the cache then can be submitted manually (as i usually do), but i guess it’ll be submitted anyway with the next track.) But now that i knew it can work, i didn’t give up. And i figured out the solution. It’s not a real solution, just a quick workaround, annoying but works, for me at least.

Can’t

Can’t get myself to work. After i got back from church i started practicing guitar, learning 3月9日, and after an hour or so my left index finger was stiff and painful of the barre.

And i couldn’t study either after that, nothing was or is going how it should, i can’t do a proper design for my blog, i’m moody like a stupid chick with period, i can’t sit straight on my chair, so i’ll have to go to gym to work out, which will also do good on my mood, if still persisting tomorrow, or just general feel, if not. I have a lot of work to do, two reports, a freakish stupid history exam and a presentation which i’ll at least enjoy, and…

And i cunt can’t even do a proper blogpost. 最低。
